Useful Tips to Make your Stay More Enjoyable & Comfortable

For trips to the longhouses, rainforest, caves, national parks, islands and beaches where you are likely to do some trekking or get slightly wet it is advisable to wear flat shoes with good gripping-soles.

Because of the high humidity prevalent in the tropics it is always wise to wear clothes made of light cotton and at all times light travelling is recommended.

Swim wear is always a required item if you enjoy swimming or playing in the water. Insect repellents, sun-protection cream and a hat or cap are also useful items to bring along.

For tours to caves and overnight stay in longhouses, national parks, jungle, beaches and islands it is advisable to bring along a hand torch and an overnight bag consisting of personal toiletries.

Accommodation at guesthouses, lodges and chalets are by necessity spartan and basic because of their location well off the beaten track. Electricity servicing these establishments would normally be powered by a generator. Most, if not all of them, would be equipped with fresh bed sheets, pillow cases, mattresses, bath towels, soaps, flush toilets, showers and cooking facilities.
